My Boa has mites!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so it pretty much it explains its self: I have mites. Ive tried everything, multiple different sprays and just three days ago I spent 52 dollars on hypoaspis miles predator mites, that didnt work at all. I woke up this morning only to find that the mites have gotten worse, and my boa was literally, I mean LITERALLY covered from head to tail in mites. Im now very angry at the wasted 52 dollars. What do i need to do? I dont want to lose this snake, I have grown very attached since it was my first ever reptile.

Provent-a-mite is amazing when the directions are followed. I'd suggest starting there.

Provent-A-Mite is the way to go, it does wonders! Just remember to always be careful; it is a pesticide, and shouldn't be used on or near the snake or the water dish. PAM is for the enclosure only. If the poor thing is covered in them you may also want to soak it daily and drown as many as you can while the PAM takes time to do its thing.

X100000 with the provent-a-mite. If you have a local reptile specialty shop they MAY carry it, I know mine does, if not you can order it through the link Rob provided. It's the only thing that will get rid of those horrible creatures. I'd change the substrate out to paper towels or newspaper, remove any decor except hides and the water dish, and give him daily soakings until the PAM arrives. Once it gets to you just follow the directions EXACTLY. I continued the soakings during the treatment to kill off any on the snake, but sometimes you don't have to. Be sure to treat any other reptiles in your house the same way as mites tend to spread like wildfire. If you own any inverts, be sure you don't treat anywhere near them! I had to relocate my tarantulas for a few weeks as it will kill them too. Good luck! I effing HATE mites. I had to treat all 17 of my snakes because I got THREE new snakes that came with mites, terrible terrible....but luckily with PAM they were gone within days, literally.

So, what happened to the predator mites?

Thank you all. The mites actually seem to be staying away from my other reptiles, my cali king is perfectly healthy and so is my leo. But I still want to get it taken care of before a few adventuresome mites find there way to my other herps. As with the predator mites I have no clue. I bought a liter of them and did what I was told, and then it seems like they disappeared in thin air, so i am one VERY angry boa owner. Its so frustrating.

Trust me, treat every reptile enclosure with the PAM, whether you think they're there or not.
