do I need a hide in a tub rack?
I have been making my hides and the ball python keeps destroying them i took out the hides and she still eats so that makes me wonder if a hide is neccesary for a tub rack.

It depends, is your rack closed on each side? (Other than the opening of course) If so, you could get away with it, however, I'd still recommend getting one. It will make them feel more secure. Reptile Basics has some pretty good ones from what I hear. http://www.reptilebasics.com/hide-boxes

Well, if your BP is still a young one, you could always buy different sizes, and if you're planning on getting more, you could buy more then! I too don't like paying more for shipping, heck, the only place I buy online off of is Amazon, and I'm a member so I get free shipping! Haha. Back on topic, so yea, if you're planning to get more BP's or yours is still growing, I'd get a few.

There's always a make your own, check out your local dollar store and see if you could make one from a container or even a cat litter pan!

    Here's a pretty awesome DIY:

    1. To answer your original question, no as long as your snake is eating and seems ok then no hide is needed. I still give some of my more nervous ones hides bc i believe it helps them.

    2. All the racks on reptile basics website include wired heat, iris tubs, and shipping in the price you see. And if you pick it up at an expo Rich will usually throw you a discount bc it saves him in shipping money on his end.

EDIT: i just realized you were talking about RBI hides not racks. My bad. Im gunna leave what i wrote though bc it could benefit someone else :gj:
