Catching up ...

I hope I'm not dooming myself by saying this, but Hanover is a GREAT eater! He took another f/t mouse tonight and is growing like a weed. When we got him and Seymour on the 18th, Seymour was ~19" and Hanover was ~17" but Seymour hasn't eaten yet and Hanover's taken 2 mice and just about caught up in size, I think. They're harder to tell apart without checking their bellies now, especially after Seymour (and Snyder too) finished shedding today.

By the way, it seems Seymour's yellow belly must have been a result of whatever substrate he was kept on before, because it's white now. He is still darker than Hanover, but his non-white light spots are the same shade of taupe that Hanover has all over. I'll get new pics soon and hope to eventually videotape Hanover eating because he's just so good at it. :-)

That's great to hear Hanover is being such a great eater for you. Congrats. :) Now, I just have to ask fo rmy own curiousity, did you name Hanover after the pretzels, just like Snyder (I think that was the name)?? lol...:D

Yup. :D Snyder's of Hanover Pretzels named the first two snakes to form perfect pretzel shapes. Goofy, I know, but I don't know of anybody else's snakes with the same names. I suggested Mr. Salty for Seymour, but that didn't fly. ;)

Well if you were going to name a snake after the pretzels around here you would have to either name them Jay's or Mike Sell's.

Thanks! Somehow I think Snyder and Hanover suit them better as names than Jay and Mike would, but maybe I should look into more brands of pretzels for future names ... hmmm .... ;)

A brilliant thought just occurred to me! The next two male snakes I get will be Jay and Silent Bob!
