New collector/future breeder
Hello all,
I bought my first BP (a normal) a few months ago. I wanted you all to know how vital this site has been for me to learn proper husbandry, assuaging my concerns, and inspiring my new obsession. I've been fascinated with reptiles my whole life, and finally decided to adopt one. Boy did that open a can of worms, so to speak.
It didn't take long for me to learn about morphs. I wanted one. Ok, I wanted lots. So many beautiful colors & patterns on such a fascinating animal. As I hardly have the budget to go as quite as crazy as I wanted, I decided the best way for me to expand my collection of morphs was to breed them myself. I'm sure many of you have similar stories...
I started researching. I contacted established breeders. Then I really did it. I followed the DIY instructions on this site and built a melamine rack. Today, I started filling it. Check out the pics below. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks for all the time and info you all seem so ready to share.
Ben

I dig the names and the snakes! Now start filling that rack!
So close, Mike.
Monty - of course. Doesn't everyone have a BP named Monty Python?
Edgar - even better. Poe would have been a great choice, but in this case, after Edgar Degas - the famed impressionist. He worked in pastels.
MJ - Face it tiger, you just hit the jackpot.
Hoth - Yes. But I feel the need to impress you with my rationale. Hoth (the ice planet) was the home of the SECRET rebel base (Echo). I dig that Hoth has a secret (albino) gene - which will produce white (and yellow) babies, with the right pairing. When I find him a girlfriend, her name will be Echo.
I'm working on filling it. And that's a bad thing for my bank account.
