I know this is a bp site, but ohh well.

I'm gonna be looking for a camaro in a lil while, till then I'll be savin me pennies :) I wanna get an 88-90' model, and am hopin for it to run no more then 2500, am I dreamin? Just wondering how much a typical one with 50,000 miles on it, that runs, will cost.

I'm also expecting it to be a complete piece of crap too. Now, I'm a complete car idiot, so this is why I'm posting. I have no idea about anything except the main workings of a car, but I know I like fast cars :) So before I buy it I'm trying to guage what work needs to be done, and how much it's gonna cost me. I've been told the car will be 1,500 in chat, then I'll probly have to have my uncle remove the engine, clean it, and probably get a few new parts. What'll that run, 500-700? After all this is done I'm gonna need to make the mods to make it a true pimp mobile :)

What mods would I need to do, that are cheap, to add a few HP to it? I've been told to add a turbo charger, wtf is that? And if ya could list any other moderately cheap mods I could do, and what it means... That'd be awsome.

After this is done, I'll get the price range based on what you tell me. I'll need a new paint job, and most likely an interior kit for the seats. Anyone know a website where I could find the interior kit?

So over all, what am I expecting, 3,500? More?

Thanks in advance, I'm an idiot.

Camaro's are awesome. when im 16 its my first car. if you want one for 600-700 dollers than youll find one. ive seen a perfect condition '89 for $300. as for somthing cheap to add power it depends on what "cheap" is for you. i would get some chips. you should go to your local shop or somthing to find out about what else. nos is that expansive but the trick fuel that is recomended that you run with it will be after a while. use a fuel cell w/ trick racing fuel in it if you get nos. that way you dont always have to run your car on the trick :). ill think of somthing else latter but im done with cars for now.

    Comp chips?
How would I bore out my headers?
    turbo charger?

Whats the price on all this too :) I wanna pimp ride, but don't wanna spend 5 times the orignal price of the car ;)

Bore out headers, can cost big $... and you got to get a shop to do that for you. Turbo charger is gonna run you some cash too, so will chips and nos, not going there. By the time you get done, you have at least 6 months of work time on it, and around $5000.00 invested in..maybe more. So, get yourself a good job man.

Well, I can say this..all these mods can and will run you well over the price of the car. They are not cheap. And, really, whats the point to it all, in snow that car is not safe..and it is not functional..go for a beefy truck.

I'd say just buy a cheap Camaro with a good body but no engine, and drop a 427 in it :-D
