Show prices? And advice!

I will be attending my first reptile show in a few weeks, and I am looking to get a single gene girl to pair with my pastel. I have a budget of 200-300$, maybe 400 if I love the animal. I have heard the term "show prices" a number of times, and I have also heard of steals that people have gotten at expos. Do prices tend to be lower at reptile shows, especially on day 2?( when I will be going). Also, given the budget stated, what base morphs (dominant or co-Dom) could I get if I was looking for a 2012 hatchling female that is NOT a spider, pinstripe, or pastel! Thanks, Benek

I would go for a lesser or fire female. Most ive seen are $350-$375 but at day 2 of an expo you may be able to find one for a little less. Mojave Females are usually $250-300 so you could probably afford one of them too.

If you cant find a nice lesser or fire then id get a cinnamon bc theyre my favorite morph.

You could probably pick up a female Lesser at the upper end of those prices, a female mojave for even less, either of which looks good when mixed with pastel. Don't be afraid to offer less then the asked for price. The worse they can say is no. Cash is always looked upon with favor.

Black pastel , woma , spotnose , chocolate , yellow belly or if you get real lucky a vanilla, alot of single gene females fall into your range just depends on what you like and want to produce later on.

I vote black pastel also. I just got myself a pair. They are very underestimated.

I think the problem you might run into is the low amout of 2012 actually ready to be sold. IMO there might not be alot of choices, let alone on Day 2.....I hope I am wrong!!!

Generally the closer to closing the better the prices. Of course, this also means that many of the choice picks have already been snagged but if you want to haggle some great deals the last couple hours of a show are your best opportunity. If you're only going for one day you may consider getting there mid-day on the last of the expo, that way you don't have to drool over awesome animals that will likely get picked up at top dollar.

I did a quick search for you with your requirements...I however would recommend a lesser or mojave....just personal preference. :D
