python rescues!

so i was recently cruising around on craigslist looking for what snakes are being re-homed. i came across a white lipped python roughly 30" long and he looked good in the picture. i went to look at him and noticed the picture on craigslist was not a picture of him. he was in a fish tank with no heat at all with a half empty water bowl and paper towels for bedding. all that aside i was looking him over and saw he was beginning to form mouth rot :tears: i felt bad for this little guy because obviously his owner either didn't care about him or didn't know. either way i knew he was coming home with me! after a few mins of talking about a price we settled on a price we were both happy with (i was probably more happy with it) and now this little guy is getting his mouth rot treated and he's getting his pep back haha already tagged me once.

i was wandering has anyone else been in the same situation as me? feeling bad for a snake where he just has to come home with you to live a better life? :gj:

I cruise Craigslist looking for things as well. I cant believe the conditions people have their snake/animals in. It makes me want to rescue them all, but that is just not possible.

Recently I saw one guy selling a BP and in the picture the snake was climbing through the wire heat lamp fixture. Another guy was selling a Boa Python that was 7 1/2 feet long and yet another guy had a large regular style heat lamp fixture handing inside what appeared to be a long shallow tank sitting about 1 or 2 off the tank floor with a corn snake laying around it. And you will loose count of all the people that just have the snake in a glass tank with a bowl of water and no heat or hide. What is wrong with people?

I got all three of my current snakes off there. I really scored some good deals.

I picked up an adult normal BP (free adoption) he had no hides, no heat source and was covered in scars. Well he is mine now and I must say after a few rats he is Fatnin up quite nicely.
