Can An Egg With Veins Be Dead?
So I've had an egg from my 5/10 clutch that is just flimsy. It has veins. But it's just very soft. The closest thing I can think of is a water balloon that's had to air let out.

All the other eggs are plump and firm.

I was told earlier that as long as an egg has veins to keep it in.

It does seem like this one is lost though.

Yes, you can have an egg that has veins but the baby inside is not viable. However, as long as you do see veins, keep it in the incubator. You never know until hatch day.

Exactly. You can have an egg with good viens but without a viable baby inside. Keep an eye on the veins when you candle. The viens will become fuzzy and less defined as the egg dies (because they are breaking down).

As long as I see good veins though I keep the egg in the incubator even if it seems flimsy because you never know. I just keep a close eye on it and if I do see the veins breaking down then I remove the egg before it rots.

Could be just poorly calcified. Some really dodgy eggs have hatched over the years.
