NEED ADVICE. Baby out of egg, but still attached.
So I cut all these eggs on day 55. I came home from work today to see the smallest was completely out of the egg but it appears that he is still attached to the egg by the cord. I dont know if I should move him and the egg into a clean tub, or just leave him be in the incubator? Any suggestions?

Also on another note, does this look like a black pastel??

What I would recommend is to gently pick him up and transfer him and the egg in a deli cup with moist paper towel and place him back in the incubator.

Doing so will limit his movement and give him time to absorbed the rest of his yolk.

The pic is rather dark but it looks like a black pastel to me.

you wouldn't try to get him back in the egg would you? Also I dont have any deli cups so ill use a piece of cardboard in a shoebox tub to section him off in a small part of the tub so he cant move much.

Just leave him alone. He is still absorbing his yoke. My blk pastel baby is perfectly fine now after doing the same thing this year. By the time everyone else came out she was down to just an inch long piece and even that was absorbed in a day or so.

well I picked it up and placed it in a tub that I blocked off 75% of so now it cant move around a lot. I will check back on him later tonight and see how its doing.

Kind of weird though, it really looks like a black pastel to me, but looks completely different from the other black pastel I hatched. Two different moms but wow the difference. The other girl I hatched has crazy pattern squiggles and is dark black and bright orange.

This one almost looks like a black pastel ghost. Just very dark all around and not much orange.

You have some great advice above. He will soak up his yolk on his own, within a couple days he will be perfectly fine.

Also yes that sure looks blk pastel to me! :gj:

Definately looks black pastel but just to compare this was the other Black Pastel I just hatched just weird how different that pattern and color is. I will for sure get a picture of them together once this black pastel is finished.
