    Yellowbelly questions
I am hoping to buy a yellowbelly male at Repticon in a couple of weeks. I am new to all of this and would like a few pointers on what to look for. I'll mostly be relying on the breeder, but would like to not sound like a total idiot.

I've also seen pics of some yellowbellies that have dark eyes while others look green. Is there a preference?

I take no credit for this pic. I jus googled it but it is a good example of what to look for. http://img.tapatalk.com/cfdb45df-452b-013a.jpg
The clear ventral scales and the checkering on the sides gives yellow bellys away. Also they tend to have awesome flames coming up the sides of the belly towards their back. They are very awesome and fairly easy to pick out once you've seen a few. Good luck!

I have a couple yellowbellies and I will admit that they looked exactly like normals when i first got them, but when you take a closer look, there is a difference. For one, like everyone has mentioned, they have clean bellies, but i also have a normal female (she is just a baby so there is no way to prove any other genes in her) with a perfectly clean belly. Another thing is the nice yellow flames that will be coming up the sides. And then there is the 'yellowbelly mark' on the top of there head that can look like a scar at first but then you look closer and realize it's just a marking.

Here is a couple pictures of my male yellowbelly.

    Really
Thanks, only now I'm really confused because I looked at the website SnakesRkewl posted (http://www.nextworldexotics.com/hgyb.htm) and my normal girl has what looks like all of those traits to my untrained eye. I've been told she is a dinker, but a normal nevertheless. My plan, because she is really pretty, is to breed her to a yellowbelly and then later to one of her sons to see if anything interesting happens.

But, she has a bright spot on her head, nice flames, blushing on her back, nice yellow coloring, etc. so I'm not sure I'll recognize a YB when I see one. <sigh> I just hope I get a good solid, honest breeder at the show....
