Which Morph is the Best Morph?
There was a good thread that was started about how much money it would take to get started in the business of BP breeding. I have enjoyed the thread very much and think it has been very informative. I wanted to start a new thread in a slightly different direction.
I have kept snakes all my life, usually just one or two, and have always wanted to do a small breeding project. I am moving in the near future to a place that I can house a small collection and will have that opportunity.
I am looking at this venture as purely a hobby at this point. But, I would like to sell the babies when they are produced and use that income offset the cost of the hobby and and continue to grow my collection.
So, my question is which morph/morphs would you look into to start with? I don't mean which do people think are the prettiest, but which seem to be the most popular and sell the best. Lets say you have 1500-2000 to spend 3 females and 1 male, where would you spend it if you wanted to maximize the chances of selling their future offspring? What would you do?
NOTE: I know there are many other expenses involved in keeping and raising snakes. For purposes of this question the 1500-2000 amount would only be for purchase of snakes. :)

Yeah, I've seen that trend too. I've thought about buying 3 female mojaves and 1 male and trying to get some super mojaves, or 3 het piebald females and a male piebald.
I've always personally been more attracted to the lighter colored morphs. But, I love BP so much that to start out with I'm just more concerned about trying to move the hatchlings fast.

You really need to be more concerned about how you'll handle the animals you produce that don't move at all.

Just like your quite at the bottom of your post says "Never met a Ball Python I didn't like." I feel the same way. All babies that can not be sold will be given proper care for as long as they are in my collection. Eventually I want to have a diverse collection. I thought that starting with morphs that are popular sellers and investing that money back into my collection would help me achieve that the quickest.
Thank you everyone for your replies.

Such a shocker, coming from BP.net's resident Cinnamon Fanatic!:rofl:
Mike, you need to add the Cinnabon logo to your signature line ;)
