Eating Tail first?!?

Is that ok? I think i read before that it was alright if they ate the mouse tail first?

Our baby BP has been active for the last 24hrs. I couldn't quite figure out what was "off". Then I realized its 5 days since eating. I wonder if she's just hungry? We've recently moved up her feedings to every 5 days.
Sure enough, she struck at that mouse, as soon as we dropped it in. She really constricted around it this time as well- longer then usual. Anyway, apparently when she decided it was "dead" (we feed F/T :) She began to eat. She was "chewing" on the tail, like it was speghetti lol Finally she got the tail down the right way and made her way to the butt. It was the strangest thing i've ever seen. lol

But my husband & I have decided that the way they scrunch the food down with their neck muscles in one of the coolest things we've ever watched. :)

Sometimes they do this. Nothing to worry about, (as long as prey is dead). Seems strange to us, but works for them.

Perry has tried this mutiple times but she usually decides the head is MUCH easier. I don't see anything wrong with eating rear first.

It would be like you eating an ice cream cone upside down. Inconvenient, a little difficult, definitely awkward, and even a bit sloppy, but the end result is the same.

Ironically, i saw a little kid doing that very thing at the ice-cream shop the other day. :) And you're right, thats exactly the way the snake look- awkward & sloppy, but she got it down.
