Oh and my son is now set that he wants a BP, so my wife told him if he could save up the money for one then he could get it. he started a "snake money" jar and started going through the couches and cars for change and sold a coconut to his grandpa. he's up to about $15. plus he lost a tooth today so the tooth fairy is going to be making a donation to the snake fund. he is 7 and he is as in love with snakes as i am. he was catching and handling 4+ foot gopher snakes with me at 4 and he has been incredibly diligent and responsible helping me with my rescue. oh and he is set on getting a spider, i guess i might be getting a pastel :D

He looks like a nice guy, I would recommend picking up a digital scale so you can monitor his weight - he'll probably put on a bunch since he's feeding regularly. Congrats on him!

I say the snake looks healthy and I think you should start hiding 10 dollar bills in the couch cushions for your son! :gj:

I have been dumping my pocket change in there and my dad, who got me hooked on snakes, told me today that every time my son comes to visit he will be coming home with snake money.

and as far as a scale goes would just a digital meat scale from walmart work?

Any scale that could measure in grams would work and it doesn't even need to be digital. He looks healthy weight-wise to me, and there is no way that a singe meal put him to where he is at now. It doesn't appear that he was not being taken care of due to his physical appearance. Is there a thread about the rescue on here that you could point me towards?

he's eaten twice since i got him. i gave him about week to settle in and finish his shed, once he was done i gave him a small/medium rat. I waited about a week -and gave him another medium rat
