need some advice

Hi folks. I need a little help. I'm currently babysitting a friends ball python. He's in a 10 gallon aquarium. There's an overhead heat lamp with just a regular household bulb. He's got a water dish and a log hide. I can't help but think that this isn't a very good setup. What can i do to make him more comfortable while he's here? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

How long are you babysitting this guys bp for? Maybe you should suggest a care sheet for the guy and tell him to get a profile here on bp net. Otherwise theres not much you can do unless you spend your own money....

Well if you have any extra thermometers lying around you could set one in there to see exactly how hot the bulb may be making things for him.You don't want to overheat him as I think that bulb, if its a 100watt could be dangerous,If temps on the cages' floor are over 95 degrees you might want to find a lower wattage bulb.
Also depending on how big or small the snake is you will want to give him another hide on the opposite end of his enclosure, that way he has a place to hide on the warm end and the cool end.
Depending on how big or small it is , you could use an old cereal box cut in half for the second hide.
These are options if you don't want to or simply don't have the money to spend money on an animal that isn't yours but still want to help it in the mean time.
