what is that behind her eye!?!?!?!?!?!?

ok so i came home to notice sumthin behind my snakes eye sumthin white the only thing i can think of is its a peace of her shed she shed just a few days ago but it was never there until today or is there sumthin wrong with her eye

Nothing to worry about, it's a retained eye cap. Soak her a few days a week and work at it gently with a clean wet towel or wash rag. It's not the end of the world if it doesn't come off, just make sure humidity is high enough next time and she'll shed it off.

alright thanks i figured it was thats but i was sure couse this the first time it happend

That is NOT a retained eye cap in my opinion.

If you try and remove it you will, in all likelyhood, blind your snake.

A fringe of skin from a retained eyecap is torn at the edges as the rest of the skin is pulled away. That picture shows smooth, attatched, skin that has been pulled out and displaced when the old eyecap came off during the shed. If you look at the eye itself it is clear and shows no sign of dimpling or creasing.

That is the (I forget what its called) membrain behind the eye, they will stretch out sometimes during a shed. Just leave it alone and it should go back in a couple days.;)

^ Have to agree with del, I've seen eyecaps in person (one of my big girl has a hard time with them sometimes) and it doesn't look like that; there's little "crinkles" on the eye and not smooth like del mentioned (here's an eyecap photo that I found, it's not one of my snakes: http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2.../100_0413b.jpg). I would NOT mess with the eye as well, I see too many people try to "fix" their snakes eyes and cause more damage then good.

Even if it WAS an eye cap, I still wouldn't mess with it at all.

Hmm, my mistake then. A while back I noticed something very similar on my Borneo short tail that ended up being an eye cap.

Yes, if you look at the edges of the white parts on both eyes in that picture you can see they are uneven and torn looking. :)

Even if it was a retained eye cap, there is no reason to mess with it. You can do a heck of a lot of damage messing with their eyes. Retained eye caps will come off with the next shed, as long as humidity is kept at a proper level.
