How Common??
I absolutely love the Killer Bee and Lesser Bee BP morphs and I was just wondering, in general, how common are these guys?
Are they usually pretty expensive?
Thanks! :D

Fairly common. Killerbees are obviously more bc its a 3 gene animal. It depends on what you consider to be pretty expensive and if youre looking for males or females.

That pretty much sums it up. I would say you are lookin at about 1K for a killerbee and around 700 for a lesserbee but like mike said prices are different for males and females and it depends on where you purchase too...

I think Lesser Bees are a bit under valued at the prices I've been seeing so far this year. They seem to be selling for less than both KingPins and Jigsaws. All things being equal, you would think those three animals would sell for the same kind of money, but I see KingPins and Jigsaws going for quite a bit more than Lesser Bees.

Kayla, I know of two people that are wanting to work with these morphs locally in the next year. The Killer might be a bit trickier to find, but I know of two where that project is going forth. If you're seriously interested, I'll e-mail you their names and you can see if you can get on their list.
I think their females are the ones they're waiting on, so if you're patient, it should work out really well. Before I got my BP (who I get to pick up shortly), Killer Bee was on my list, so I was asking around. Now that I have my Pied, and I'm at my limit, no Killer Bee for a while.
Just means I'll come over to your place and take photos.
As far as Price, it's going to be slightly different in our area than compared to most breeders in the States. We're across the border, so it's more difficult to find good quality animals in certain morphs. First one I'd check with to give you some direction might be Tracey at Celtic Serpents. She usually has an idea of who is working on what, as well as a variety of projects that she doesn't reveal until hatch day.

If your willing to spend about 1k+ on a hatchling (assuming female) then you should have no problem finding one.
It might take a few days in shopping on various classifieds and some different websites but you would find one.
Of course if your just wanting them because you like them, males might be the way to go. They are cheaper.
Be picky, not all breeders are created equal.

I think these designer morphs got a good boost from the prospects of breeding with specials, mystics, phantoms and other in that group. I also think that is why the Leucistic mutations are now holding value. Who knows what the next gene will be that reacts with them!
Also the spider and pastel genes have both been a little overdone.

Thanks for all of the replies guys. I'd most likely be looking just for a pet, so probably Male.
Danielle, that'd be awsome if you could send me the info. of who will be working towards these morphs around us. I think I'd be more interested in the Lesser Bee, so pretty!

Are you looking for an adult? Cause someone at the Spring show was trying to sell me his. I even have photos! Hahaha. You'd love it. I'm seriously going to e-mail you, because you do not want to miss out on that gorgeous guy. Stunning animal. I was almost willing to get in trouble with my partner and bring it home :gj: I'm 98% sure he still has it.
To the phone! Zoooooom!

I think I would go with either an adult or a baby. :)
