Repti-Bark or Repti-Carpet?
Okay, so i can't decide on which substrate to use, i figured id ask here.
i like to look of the repti bark, but i really like how the carpet is a little more wallet friendly. feel free to give me your opinions.
p.s. i know alot of people like newspaper, unfortunately i don't. im not a breeder, and sam is in a glass tank, to me, newspaper just looks ugly. (no offense newspaper users)

I would never recommend carpet, it's a harbor for bacteria and mold.
Any reason why you don't like the bark? or just personal preference? i hadn't really thought about aspen...i used it back when i had cornsnakes, but that was because they liked to burrow in it. Do BP's also burrow?

As was stated, the Aspen or Cypress are popular, but so is using paper (paper towels, indented craft paper, reptisorb, etc...)
Well, as long as there is no reason to NOT use the bark, i think i might use it then. i like the look of it, and it seems to hold humidty well. My only gripe about it would be the small particles of dust when you first pour it in, but i guess any substrate (besides paper) would have that issue.

Bark is fine but mulch seems to hold humidity better IMO, and when using a glass tank the main issue will be humidity.
So in order of preference/efficiency with the setup
Mulch
Bark
Aspen
Carpet

Mites are species specific, wood mites and snake mites are different and wood mites will not affect your snake in any way.

Humidity isn't really a huge issue with my tank. i have 3/4 of the screen top covered with saranwrap and tape (on the outside of course).
I guess ill stick with bark, thanks for the responses guys =)
