    Odie
This dog was by far the best dog I've ever owned. We had to put him down last summer as a result of a slipped disc (common with Dachshunds). He never bit, let alone growled, at either of our boys, and they've tried to take rides on his back and have grabbed his jowls and pulled them back and forth. He was a very calm and loving puppy. It's been a year now and my 4 year old son, when crying about this or that, will still cry that he "wants Odie," which breaks my wife and I's hearts. We love and miss you buddy!

Odie did sire one puppy, a male, so I like to think that he still lives on through him. Here's his son at around 5 or 6 weeks of age:

So sorry to hear about your loss. Odie was just adorable and his offspring is just as cute. I know first hand how much of a hole pets can leave in our hearts - I too had to put down my boxer girl "Madison" when she was 10 years old and had cancer.

It will be a year soon since she passed and I still think of her every day.

Remember all the good times you shared and take peace in knowing Odie had a good life for the time he was with you.

    Godspeed Odie!!!!
