What age can I accurately sex Leo babies?

They were incubated at temps for female, and look female. I just want to be sure. Would you be able to see the line the males have when they are babies?? Or is that something that comes in as they are older? This is our first go round with leos, and I want to keep a baby, but want to be positive it is female before I sell one. Thanks!!

I heard that you can shine a bright light through the tail and if you see blood vessles you have a male (blood supply for the hemi penes) if there are no veins you have a female. If it doesn't work you can usually sex them at 20 grams.
My female never had veins and she is now 40grams and very female lol!

When they're little it's pretty hard- the easiest way for me to tell is by the texture of their belly. Males are more "sticky" I really don't know how else to describe it....

I should also mention that you shouldn't use the flashlight method on albinos- it distresses them =)

Not to highjack the thread but I have to hear the explanation behind this. Sounds like a myth to me as there is nothing that I can think of that would harm a leopard geck that could come from shining a flashlight on it, albino or otherwise.

I usually use a jewlers louper.
Both male and female bellys feel the same. The only thing I can think of that's different is the preanal pores. Males gain the wax females don't. But that's not until they are about breedable.
Flashlights wont harm them at all. Especially if you are shining it to their tail I be never used that method btw. Albinos though are more light sensitive but I doubt you'll be sexing through their eyes. congrats on the babies.
