    Hairless Milk production issues
Hello, im just starting out breedinf my own rats(first rounds of babies should pop out any day now) and my initial plan was to breed hairless rats. I know they can digest hair perfectly fine, but i want to feed one snake alll hairless and see if it differs in growrh and how much waste is actually produced. Theoreticly it should digest its prey faster.

Anyway, i came across the problem of milk production in hairless rats and ive been trying to think of a good way to get around this.

Im breeding both fawn hooded, and hairless Nd having two seperate colonies. I figure o can try and give the fawn mothers fosyer babies if the mothers are unable to produce wnoufh milk to feed them, and if i notice it to be a terrible problem, cycle the mother, breed a male hairless to a female fawn, breed two babies together producing more hairless, and theoreticly the milk production genes should be a little more reinforced right? If i do this every time the milk gets spotty i should be able to create a healthy and self sustaining hairless colony. What do you think? HS anyone else managed a successfil hairless colonu? If so what di you do to make it work?

Have you thought about breeding Double Rex rats? They're 'fake' hairless rats.
If you breed 2 rex(curly hair) rats together, they may produce a double rex rat, which molt most, if not all their fur.

Double Rex rats don't seem to have any problems producing milk in my experience.

Good to know! I might need to track down a rex or two.

Also, Double rex rats will produce all rex offspring if paired w/ a normal hair type rat.

So just think about it like a super pastel that produces all pastels if paired w/ a normal BP. haha
