the incubator is reading 89 right now, she is just half in the sac and half out. cord is still connected but i dont want it to get dehydrated. i put a moist paper towel over the egg as well.

I place my eggs on a damp paper towel after they are cut, but I cut around day 57. You might want to put a small squirt bottle of water (distilled or saline would be even better) in your incubator until the temperature of the water is the same as your incubation temperature. Then you can gently hydrate the neonate. At day 59, they should be just about ready to come out.

On your next clutch, you might want to wait a little longer before you cut. Day 50 for a first time clutch is a little early.

Good luck. Hope everything is healthy out of the egg.

today actually is day 59 and i cut on day 51. I saw allot of things online with people cutting around then. i Kinda regret doing it that early i feel like it just caused more issues
    :(

Don't beat yourself up. Cutting on day 51 for someone with a lot of experience is fine. I've seen some people cut even earlier, but they knew what they were doing. Gently hydrate the eggs like I suggested. At day 59, they are close to coming out.

live and learn. As long as you keep him hydrated he should be able to absorb the rest of his yolk sack and be fine. Next time i wouldnt cut that early. Most people i hear cut around day 54-56. Thats just the general observation ive made, certainly not a statistic though. Is there a particular big breeder you saw that cut that early? I remember in a Mike Wilbanks video he cut one of his clutches pretty early as an example.
