Pastels will brown out as they move closer to a shed cycle... mine look terrible the week before a shed. A day or so after a shed they will be back to normal.

Pastels will also brown out as they get older. This isn't what is happing to yours right now, but will happen eventually.

She looks like she's close to shed, but pastels brown out as they age anyways...

As pastels age they can brown out, some worse than others.
Just depends on the snake itself, some are better representations of the morph than others.

I agree that yours will be shedding soon, she shouldnt brown out that fast.
She looks like a nice pastel.

The overall dull, chalky appearance tells us she's going to shed soon.

Pastels do brown out, and yours will as well. But, she carries a lot of bright blushing and will remain a pretty snake.

In all honesty, they way she looks now will probably be very close to how she looks as she matures, it's one of the downfalls on Pastels. But cheer up, I've seen Pastels so brown you couldn't tell it was a Pastel, your lovely girl will never get that way. And who knows, she may be one of those 1 in a million Pastels that get's brighter as she ages.
She is still an animal I would welcome into my collection. I'm still searching for my perfect Pastel female, yours is right up there with my ideal Pastel.

I agree going into a shed. is her belly pink? most pastels will brown out with age. but it takes a lot longer than a month. she will brighten up once she sheds.
