    Just got my first Red tail
    Hey I just picked up my first redtail boa I will get some pics up soon but probably not until tomorrow. next I was wondering if you guys have any tips I have my bp and I can tell that the boas are way less stressed than bps I named him Tiberius.

    Congrats! Boa's are awesome, we love ours. He is a complete puppy dog. And yes, they don't stress like a bp.

    boas are great. as soon as I can invest in more space I'm looking to pick up at least one or two more.

    Well Idk if its to either my fiance just called him that and it stuck. I think that she was refering to Star Trek but I like to think of him as the Ceasar.

    Here's my tip for you since I see a lot of people who tend to overfeed their boas. Not sure how old yours is, but I'll assume he's a baby or at least fairly young.

    Do NOT feed him more than once a week!! Even babies should only be fed every 7 days. And they do not need a large prey item - one that will make a TINY bulge once swallowed is plenty big enough. It is better to feed something too small rather than too large.

    Boas have a real tendancy to get overweight and overfeeding can cause other issues too. So feed once every 7 days until he's about 1000 grams or so then go to every 10 days. :gj:

    yeah I bought it and the girl who breeds them told me hes eating hoppers once a week. she even got out her 8ft+ redtail and let me hold him sucker is heavy.
