Ceramic or plastic

I have my RBI rack with ceramic water bowls for the ball pythons, I love the ceramic bowls untill it's time to take them and clean them. I'm always worried abOut cracking them so I'm debating if i I should go with some plastic bowls. I'm just worried about the ball pythons, flipping the bowls constantly with the plastic bowls, so do you guys use plastic bowls and how do you like them? Or should I just stick with ceramic and be careful when it's time to clean and store the water bowls. P.s. I'm looking at the water bowls RBI sells, anyone have any experience with them.

As long as you don't use hot or really cold water I can't see it being a problem.

Sorry should have been more specific, not cleaning them moving them to the sink to clean, and dropping them and making them chip or crack

O I've had mine for years they seem to be pretty tuff I like them more then plastic because their harder to tip over.

I use plastic dog and cat bowls from the dollar tree. buck each and pretty much indestructable. I dont have an issue with them tipping just gotta get the ones with the wide bottom.

WHat type of substrate do you use? I use plastic bowls and sani chips. I just pack in the chips really well around the bowls so they cant tip them. why not just buy like a 32qt sterilite tub and put all the bowls in it and then carry it to wherever you clean them then carry them back. You have to describe your situation a little better bc i dont really understand what your dilemna is?:confused:

You are just afraid of breaking them? Lol that seems easy enough to remedy, just be careful! I like the ceramic dishes cause they aren't easy to tip. I use paper towel substrate.

I use unprinted newspaper, and yeah I am worried about them breaking, I clean them in a sterlite with chlorhex(sit in for 3 hrs, then dried and stored away but when I store them I just don't like how they stack they don't seem stable and can fall and in which would cause them to break. I think I'm just over thinking the problem:rolleyes: I think I'll
Just stick with ceramic and be careful an they to find a way to keep them stacked so they are stable and no shot at them falling.

I use 4 inch ceramic water bowls and beat the heck out of them. Never had an issue, and I've never had one tipped over.

And, if I ever do manage to chip or break one, I can deal with the $5.99 it takes to replace one.

Ceramic all the way. I have various matching sizes from tiny brulee for my hogs, to the small bowls for hatchling balls and subadults, to the huge ones for breeder balls and my super dwarfs. In all the time I've had them I haven't broken a single one. I chipped the bathtub once on accident by dropping a bowl while cleaning. Other then that, I wouldn't use anything else. I've never had a tip over since I started using them.
