What am I? (Don't say ball python.)
    (I know he's a ball python. Rofl.)
Alright, I bought this little guy. I later looked up the morph they said he was, and none of them look anything like him. At least, not to me. Unless he's supposed to pale out as he gets older, or yellower, or something. Which, I suppose, is possible.

Sweet, thank you guys. He was sold as a butter. Maybe I've been looking at the wrong butters online? They're much paler. I suppose they could be pastel butters, though...

Yes it is a lesser/butter. Most people agree they are basically the same gene on different alleles.

Butters and lessers have different degrees of lightness and/or darkness. Some are super light and bright, some are in between, some are really dark.

But, both snakes do tend to lighten a great deal as they age. Try comparing hatchling pictures to adult pictures, the difference is unreal.

    Check out http://www.worldofballpythons.com/morphs/lesser/

    and http://www.worldofballpythons.com/morphs/butter/

There are good examples of the morphs on that site, pictures would vary from size/age of snake(hatchlings look different), the photo quality itself, and the bloodlines for the particular snake.

Very similar looking morphs but from different blood lines. Personally I cant tell the difference, if it was sold to you as a butter than chances are, it is.

Congrats on your new addition though! :gj:
