    Is it the choc butter?
Bred a butter x choc and got 2 of these, 3 chocs and a normal. Have used the sire before and not produced anything this dark before. Some say it is while others says dark butter. What you all think? Crappy phone pics at mo.

I don't know a lot about chocolate crosses but I'd guess that they are both chocolate butters. Just seems way too much contrast between the dark and the yellow to be a dark butter.

Im not familiar with chocolate crosses either but imho those look like just butters to me. Just my initial opinion on first seeing them. I hope im wrong though for your sake!

could we see some pics of the parents? Initial thought is dark butter but I don't really have any experience with chocolates either.

Edit: after looking at Chocolate lessers, I have changed my mind. I believe those are chocolate butter.

The butters the sire has produced are no where near this dark. The heads are almost black.

Could you get pics of the babies in natural sunlight. With no flash on.

    Two questions.

Have the babies shed for the first time yet ?

And, any chance of pictures in a little bit better light ? Maybe outdoors if possible, if not if you have a CFL lamp that might help.

I'm leaning towards chocolate butter right now, but I'm not 100%.

I won't see daylight till next week as working nites myself, yes the pics are after 1st shed and fed today. They have a brownish highlight to there belly but is clear. One is slightly darker than the other. I've hatched butters before and none looked like this but the choc morph isn't an easy morph to identify unless you use the super. My female didn't darken out till she was a lot bigger. I'm actually swaying to moving away from it to be honest.
