    Too aggressive of a schedule?
What would you consider too aggressive of a feeding schedule? I want to get my snakes up to size but I want to do it safely and as healthy as possible. I've heard some do a 3/4 schedule, some a 5 day schedule, then some every week with bigger meals. Suggestions?

I'm not breeding yet but my smaller balls are on a five day and my big girls are on a seven, I think that's a healthy schedule IMO.

I feed my young BP's every 4 days, and larger BP's every 8.

Yupp like Aaron said. I feed my young one on a 4 day feeding schedule.

I only feed appropriate sized meals once a week, hatchling to adult...with the exception of breeder females, which get fed roughly every 5 days from mid summer up until they start pairing. There have been no comprehensive studies done on ball python feeding in regards to what is too much, so there's no real way to tell if a 4-5 day feeding schedule over a 7 day schedule has any positive or negative impact or has no effect at all. IMO, being fed every 7 days is more than sufficient.

Same. My snakes get an appropriate sized rat every week. A couple of babies with September hatch dates are already nearing 1000 grams on this regimen. And yet others are still in the 600 range. I think it depends on the snake.

I think it depends a lot on the snake, and I do not subscribe to the idea that "one schedule fits all", with snakes (or people for that matter). However, as a general guideline, I keep my snakes on a "slow" feeding schedule; naturally, snakes stock up on food because in the wild they may not be able to find another meal for weeks or months. I.e., they don't stop eating when they're full. With this in mind, I personally would not feed a ball python more than once per week.

    this is good.

I do 4 days to 300 grams, 5 days to 1200ish grams, and than 7 days. But during the summer I pretty much put all the adults on a 5 or 6 day schedule.
