Finally got my garden in the ground!!!

I know I'm running late in the season, but I finally got everything planted!

It's not much but I'm very proud of it.
Just wanted to share with you guys.

Very cool nothing like fresh homegrown veggies :gj: , we have ours going twice a year (summer and fall crop) and we love it.

So what did you plant?

This is why i wanna live down south!!!! You lucky ducks get to grow things year round!

To the OP: ill get some pics of mine once we plant it but i just burned it last week on my day off. We still gotta rototil it.

EDIT: Chris you dont have to put a fence around it? Critters are always getting into ours but a fence keeps out most of them. The ones who can get in still, like chipmunks, get taken out with the pellet gun by yours truly ;)

I got some corn, okra, summer squash, zucchini, cucumber, bell pepper, banana pepper, cayenne pepper, watermelon and cantaloupe.

Looks great! Significantly better than mine :) I had to pull up the grass where I put my garden, can only dig so far because of the amount of rocks in our yard, and had it looking decent... then the dog got into it and ate all the tops of the plants, save one red cabbage plant. I bought more and just sort of stuck them in where they fit. No symmetry. haha. Yours is looking pretty good, and good luck to you for future growing :)

bleeeeh okra is yucky lol. such a southern dish lol.
My grandparents live in NC too and the cantalopes they grow are the best ever! Sooooo much better than anything you can get in the store. Youll love them!
I would love to grow hot peppers but the climate is too cold for it. Another reason why i hate CT lol.:mad:

I'm gonna guess you've never had okra cooked properly. I think it's great in vegetable soup, and if fried properly so it's not slimey.
Just a thought on your peppers have you ever tried to pot them and put them in a window seal?

I have a small garden in pots this year as a result of being deployed but at least I have one! And no tomatoes!? I will not tolerate such blasphemy here! LOL I have always grown tomatoes and there is nothing like taking a bite of a fresh tomato right after you pick it while it is still warm from the sun that was shining on it when it came off the vine.

No tomatoes for me. I don't really like them raw. My field herping buddy is growing 5 different varieties and about 10 plants of each so I'll have all the tomatoes I want. What all are you growing?
