I think I've begun to assimilate him!
My hubby has never really liked the snakes. He deals with them being in the house and allows me to have them without complaint but he won't touch or go near them. Tonight, I was reading through the forums here when my cat came tearing into the living room and nearly gave himself a concussion chasing a small black thing behind the bookcase. It turns out, one of our outdoor mice decided to come inside (mistake with 3 cats, 1 foster cat, 2 dogs, and plenty of snakes in the house). Once I caught the little guy, my hubby looked at it and said, "Bet Kitai would have fun with that," and was grinning while he said it! Now I just need to get him to touch a snake... ;)
For anyone concerned, however, the mouse has been turned loose back outside. I don't kill things without reason and don't feed wild-caught prey to my guys.

He already 'stole' one of my dogs. He'd better leave my snakes alone! ;)
As for him coming around, I'm just happy that he doesn't give me any problems about the snakes being here or me having them out as I wish. He's not really an animal person so any little bit is good. My stepdaughters on the other hand... they keep trying to lay claim to my corns.
