    Female Desert combo breeding
I know the female Deserts won't likely produce, but what about a 2 gene Desert (Enchi, Pastel, etc..)? Has anyone had any luck with these, or even heard of it working??

That really sucks....woulda thought the other gene in there would help. That really is a bummer....such pretty morphs.

Thx for the help....one day I'll learn to use search on my own.

The fertility issue lies with the desert gene. So any snake with the desert gene has the same issues. Combos included.

Guess I'll have to get a male if I want Desert combos....or just spend the $$ on something I can go somewhere with.

Probably a good idea! :gj: But later down the road get a male if you still want to produce some desert combos. Deserts are too beautiful a snake to not have at least one. Besides if you produce females you could possibly sell them but thats just one more super cool snake to add to your collection.

There really is ZERO reason adding another gene would fix anything. As far as I know there is not a super fertile morph that could/would counteract the Desert.

This is a mutation that appears is not meant to reproduce in females and is it becoming an ethical issue as more of them die during breeding.

So, can someone please tell me how we got the desert gene if the females won't reproduce?

because the males do and its a co-dom

    Edit:

I should say at minimum is a co-dom; no females have produced to prove if it is or isnt a co-dom/dom trait.
