    issue with orange ghost
    hi guys,

pretty new to breedings , please bare with me for my shallow understanding with regards to breeding BP.

i've lock my 900g spider male to my 1300g orange ghost female in late feb, roughly in first week of march i stop the breeding but heres the problem , my female ghost have not eaten from feb till today. no matter what she just wont feed and she has shed once on 15 april, initally i though it was a pre-lay shed but no luck.

hope you guys would advise me on my next step.

    thank you.

If she stopped eating it could point to signs of pre-ovulation. You might have a late bloomer, keep an eye out for signs of ovulation and try feeding smaller meals and only every 10-14 days or so, even if she's not taking you can continue to offer but infrequently.. Are you still pairing? Once you start seeing full blown ovulation I would stop feeding until she lays. Even if she is absorbing her follicles and you've lost the pairing this year, she won't starve. My female didn't lose any weight during her 5 month fast.

If anything I would see this as a positive thing. Just keep an eye on her and your fingers crossed.. but I don't have a lot of experience with this kind of stuff either - just what I've picked up from different sources and being around different breeders during the season.

My buddies female took 49 days to lay after shed. Some females vary I guess just wait and see. You can continue to pair them and see if they continue breeding
