Ecoearth

So i use ecoeath(maybe called ecodirt dont remember at moment lol) I've look through the caresheets didnt find the information. So its about time to clean it out and i was wonder do i need to take all the substrate out or just the side that i keep wet?

You only keep one side wet?

It all needs to be changed...

I was told to have a dry side and a wet side, is this incorrect info?

Personally, I hate eco earth for ball pythons. Mainly because I hate cleaning up dirt..seems counterproductive.

For ball pythons, I would not recommend wet substrate at all. If they sit on it too long, they could develop scale rot. Not to mention it will mold quickly if it doesn't have time to dry out regularly. As for dry eco earth, I find it a little bit dusty.

The stuff looks pretty nice in a planted viv or display tank, but in my experience it just isn't worth the hassle.

My substrates of choice are Paper towel (my fav), Newspaper, aspen, or cypress mulch. All are much easier to clean, not so dusty, and not dirt lol.

When I use to keep my ball python inside of a 20g tank I would use ecoearth. It wasn't to bad when it was dry, but when it was wet it would mold and these little tiny fly type bugs would be in there. I stopped using it and went with the blank newspaper. It's easy at least for me then to deal with the ecoearth.
