My little Rex just enjoyed his first f/k mouse! This formerly finicky ball, after I followed the excellent advice from this forum, just ate a little live mouse and I then slipped in the little f/k and after 5 minutes of nuzzling it, Ol' Rex chowed down.

I plan to do this 2 more times, then offer f/k a few times and then f/t.

Thanks for all the help folks. we're well on our way away from live feeders!

Good for Rex! That'll be a lot safer, not to mention easier to deal with when he refuses food.

First the transition to f/k & f/t starts successfully, and then this morning, we're having our first BP shed! Looks like a good one too.

Maybe one day I will decide to switch over. I have checked with the nearest pet store to me (45 miles) but they do not carry frozen critters. Living out in the middle of nowhere does have it's disadvantages.

Well, when ever mine don't take freshly killed I freeze them. Only my runt will take them though. So that's his main food. Works real well. I toss it in and after 2 hours it's gone. F/T is easy, but really annoying to thaw.
