I need an ID on this guy
Alright so i picked up this big guy yesterday. And was told he was a Fire. This is the first bearded morph ive ever had and i dont know anything about there genetics. Ive had plenty of dragons in the past but they were always the normal type.

So can anyone tell me what this guy is exactly?
And what would be a good female to pair him with?
I came across a Hypo Citrus Tiger Translucent Leatherback that i really liked but what would that do when paired with this guy?

    Thanks

He's really nice looking. Congrats on the pick-up!

He's a nice looking red colored dragon. Names that apply to color morphs don't really mean anything and are usually purely for marketing (no identifiable and consistently reproducible markers). Colors don't follow simple inheritance (recessive, dominant, etc), its more like eye or hair color in humans. Traits like trans, hypo, dunner, and leatherback/silkback do follow Mendelian Inheritance (like most BP morphs).

Depends on what your looking to produce. I would go with another red or orange dragon. But a yellow girl could have interesting results.

Most likely: a few hatchlings will be extreme red, a few will be a nice yellow with blue bars, a few will be normal brown, and the rest will fall somewhere in between these extremes. All will be double hets for hypo and trans. If your red male is het hypo (looks possible), then you would produce 50% hypos.

No problem. He's really nice looking and should produce some killer babies.
