Price Check? Not as familiar with boa morphs...
A friend of ours is offering a trade for his 2009 female Coral Albino boa. I don't know much about boa morphs, but from reading up, am I right in saying that the 'coral' is sort of a random occurance/not fully proven? Please educate me!
Here is a (bad) photo of the girl:

We were offering two of our 100% het pied girls that are around 300 grams, and that we do not plan on holding onto for breeding purposes, and possibly another lower end morph from our future clutches, depending on what comes out.
Monetarily, what is a safe estimate on what this snake would go for, so we have an idea of what is reasonable to offer for a trade?
Thanks guys!

That looks like a very nice albino, but I'd hesitate to say she's a coral albino. They are usually a lot more pink. Perhaps the pics don't show that though....
The BoaMorph site has a nice description of the coral albino and the genetics behind the trait and there's a few pics here too. You can see how pink these boas should be. Some corals are more pink than others, but all corals will have some pink highlighting and should not look yellow.
As far as price, a 2009 coral albino female will go for around $500-600. Knock off $100 for a male. The more pink, the higher the price. If she turns out to be a normal albino, you're looking at about $400-450 or so. Study the pics and look at this girl in person. If she's nice and pink, you're better off. The pic here really may not be showing her true colors and she might be much pinker in person.
If you really want her for yourselves, she'll be worth a little more to you. She looks nice and healthy - in fact, she's a little fat, lol... :gj:

Thank you, Evanstar! I've been looking at different boas for a while, as an addition. I don't know if we will be keeping her for ourselves or not (not until I see her in person), but our friend needs some extra space, and we have had some difficulty moving our remaining 2 het pied girls (we've had multiple people interested, and multiple wives of those people tell them 'no more snakes!' haha). The het pied girls are lots smaller, and easier to accomodate. I've had my heart set on an argentine, but have been open to others, and she might well work nicely :)
Thanks again for the info!

Argentines are awesome!! This is my male, Mojo. LOVE to handle this guy!

But that female does look really nice. Even if she's not high pink, if she has a good personality, then she might be right up your ally.
Warning - once you have a boa, you'll want more.... :D

Haha, we've fostered an Argentine in the past, but he made me paranoid. Something wrong with him that I couldn't quite place, so I rehomed him. I think it was from years of being kept in an aquarium with a 60W "soft white" bulb for heat before us. Really amazing he was as big and healthy as he was.. but something not quite right. I want one that is a little more sound.
We have a dumeril's, but I definitely like the 'feel' of boas, and have been wanting another 'bigger' snake for a while. My coastal carpet is growing fast.. but she is a chore to handle. She takes conscious thought to pay attention to, otherwise she'll slip away unnoticed
