Help with restructuring my collection
I am thinking about reducing my collection of single morphs and using the money to buy some multi gene animals. Can someone help me put a value, on a very conservative level, what I may be able to get for each one. Also, I have been thinking about going to a bigger breeder or shows and seeing if they would do trades and some cash for everything. I just want to breed some amazing multi gene pets for my family and then breed what I have to support my hobby. I think I would like to end up with 3 snakes. one 3+ gene male and two 2+ gene females. I don't mind paying extra cash on top of the trades to get a multi gene animal, but wanted to get a good idea of what I have to work with. Also how would I get the most bang for my buck, at a show, large breeder, Kingsnake.com, craigslist...other? I live in Orlando so there are 6 Repticons in Florida each year plus the Daytona Show which is the country's largest coming up in August.
here is what I have to work with:
Female Lesser............................550gram
Female Orange Ghost..................150 grams
Female Orange Ghost .................150 grams
Female 100% het Orange Ghost....150 grams
Female normal proven breeder(gravid at the moment)..1800 grams
Female normal.......................... 2500 grams
Male mojave .............................400 grams
Male Enchi ...............................400 grams
Male Amir line Yellow belly............300 grams
Male Orange Ghost.....................150 grams
Male Orange Ghost.....................150 grams
Male 100% het Orange Ghost.......150 grams
Male blonde pastel roven breeder..900 grams
Re: Help with restructuring my collection
I just picked up two more Ball Pythons...couldn't pass up the deal.
Female 800 gram 100% Het Pied (from Justin Kobylka)
Male 300 Gram 100% Het ied (from BHB)
these will be ready to breed this fall so I will keep these two until next year

All the Orange Ghosts are from the same clutch. They are all 6 weeks old. I wouldn't by 3 males of the same morph. I'm not an idiot  :D

haha...figured that was the case...you're probably not going to get much in trade...big breeders are going to want wholesale value. Best bet would be to sell off what you don't want to keep and then hit up Kingsnake or local shows to pick up what you want...

Thanks, I actually got rid of all the ghosts except one female. I picked up a female citrus pewter. I am getting rid of the pastel male, and maybe the yellow belly. you think I should keep one of the ghost males?

Nice pick up. Get rid of the ghost males unless you want to make more ghosts. I'd breed a multiple gene male to your girl or another recessive and do a ghost combo project.

And definitely keep those. Pieds are always keepers.
And regardless of what i or anyone else says, go with what you think is awesome. Have some fun with it!

LOL looks like we had the same exact ideas. I am keeping a pair of the ghosts to breed back an F1 offspring that should be awesome. they are super nice butterscotch ghosts. and will make even prettier off spring if I breed them back to each other. Thanks for the advice
