If the aquarium is right by the window and getting some type of sunlight do i still need a uvb light strip?

Yes, glass and most plastics block 100% of UV rays... further it is not a good idea to put glass tanks right by windows because they can act like a greenhouse and get really hot.

Even the screen tops on most tanks will block a good amount of UV

Get a reptisun 10.0 bulb, and go to home depot and for like 10-15 bucks get a flourescent light fixture. Take off teh plastic screen that "hides the bulb" and keep the light about 8-12 inches high above the basking area of his enclosure.

The reptisun bulbs are by far the best bulbs for Beardies and UVB

The reason for not getting the spiral is because it has/is having problems with damaging the dragons eyes. The light does not make their eyes dilate and the UVB is damaging the eye. This is the easiest way I can explain it. The tube bulbs are fine and don't have that problem. Also lights should be changed every 6 months.

Please correct me if the bulbs are better now and not having that problem.

Anyone else notice the title or is it just me. Bread doesn't need UV.

I suppose I should have stated that more clearly in my original post responding to the OP. I mentioned getting a flourescent lighting unit...but yes, DO NOT USE THE SWIRLY NOODLE BULBS!!! Use only the long flourescent tube bulbs!!!

As well as the tube needs to be 10.0. Reptisuns are the best and what we use here.
