Day 16 - Incubation question -- egg dimpling...
Hi All -- Quick question for all the experts out there..

After putting the lid on my tubs within my Reptibator a few weeks ago, humidity was stable at 98% and temps stayed great..

This week the humidity has dropped off to 93% and I do notice a small dimple (slight caving) with one of the eggs...

Should I take all the eggs out and re-wet the vermiculite again to get the humidity back up or just leave it at 93%? From reading -- anywhere from 90-100% humidity is recommended.

Not sure if it's just slightly dimpling because another egg is kind of resting on top of it..

All eggs are still white and don't smell like they are bad or anything..

They look great to me. If you want you can add a bit of warm water to the vermiculite.

Awesome -- thanks for the help -- the pic is hard to see the slight caving/dimpling...

Dumb question -- how do you water down the vermiculite with the egg still in the tub without getting the eggs wet? Do most people remove the eggs and remix the vermiculite with water? As you can see, mine are 1/2 submerged in the mixture...

I just pour a bit in the corner of the box. But not too much cause you don't want to make it "swampy". A few ounces should be good and you want to make sure the water is the same temp as the egg box.

Looks like the one egg that had the big dimples is starting to go bad..

It is too stuck to the other eggs to remove it.. Will it cause the other eggs to go bad if we leave it? Will post a pic soon...

    Sad day....
