I was in awe all day (long but had to let it out)
So I posted Friday I would be working ETHS in Houston, helping out a local pet store. This is the first expo I have ever been to involving reptiles. And I am so amazed at what I seen today and the different kinds of people that in the industry in my area that I never realized. Last night they had a a welcoming party at Crown Plaza where the expo is being held. And getting to meet some of the people there and some of the breeders and vendors today was amazing. when I can get my self straitened out and can get back into the hobby I have some pretty good contacts. The expo was the first expo and very poorly advertised and set for a bad weekend. There is some other stuff going on this weekend as well as it being mother's day weekend, so we didn't do that well. the show started at 10 and buy 2 there was just hardly anyone there coming to the show. And they are antisipating tomorrow to have an even worse out come, because of it being mothers day. I didn't get much pics today but I am going to try to take some more tomorrow but I wanted to share two that I got today one was a ball python that I fell in love with

today was the first time I have seen a lot of these ball pythons morphs in person and they are sooo much more stunning then in the photos I have seen. and I have decided that over burmese pythons I am in love with retics. They didn't have any burms there just retics. and a lot of blood pythons that where just so gorgus

another thing I loved was this booth next us had a leash trained savannah monitor. I have never held one til today of this size but this one was so well trained that it did some tricks and stuff. and with all the research I have done on savs really makes me want to get one. what doesn't make since is everyone kept telling me that they are better to get as a hatchling and work with them then to get an adult. Now why couldn't I get an adult that has already been well established and used to human interaction and talerates it? But this monitor was about 75 % accurate on a leash, understood simple voice commends and colors for treats. and really tolerated being handled by everyone.

It was great to meet you at the show! I am glad that you found the experiance enjoyable even though it was painfully slow at times. It think an ETHS spring show has potential, this one was just not fully thought through. Their conference/breeders expo in the fall is crazy busy! As a vendor at this last show this weekend most of my time was spent visiting with the other vendors as there were several parts of the day that the vendors outnumbered the customers. Luckily, I was able to sell more than I bought, which is a rare feat. With a little fine tuning, I anticipate this being a pretty good show in the future.
