    Finally finished!
Well, everything is finally in, 240 holes drilled through acrylic, heat mats and Herpstat 4 wired up, new setup is ready to go.

Took over five months for the cages and mats to show up. Let me just say again... Don't do business with repti-racks.com. Yes, I'm still bitter. Heh. But at least my snakies finally have their nice new homes. Check out the pics, let me know your thoughts, if any.

    Lots of cable management... lol

Very nice. Have your temps stabilized in the proper zones yet? If so what is your Herpstat 4 set to?

Thanks guys. Aaron, I got the humidity dialed in finally... Still playing with the temps, though it's getting closer. Finished putting in all of the cages a bit ago, going to let it stabilize overnight then check with the IR gun. I have the Herpstat set to 95 right now. Have a feeling I may need to bump it up a few degrees though. We'll see tomorrow. Though that may present an issue... In the manual that came with those bean farm heatmats, it says they're self regulated to 95 degrees. So I don't know if it'll go hotter. *shrug*

How thick are the walls/floor of the cages?

My AP cages are made from 1/2" thick PVC so I have my herpstat set between 100-103 to achieve the proper temperatures inside the cages.

These are 1/4 inch. It would have been nice if he used 1/2 half inch.

ok, well the up side is they should be easier to heat, but they aren't as insulated.

If these heat pads don't have the power needed 11" flexwatt will do the job, honestly I don't know why this guy didn't use it in the first place. The heat pads he used cost at least twice as much and don't work as well.

    Edit:

If he used the 11x23 heat pads the same size piece of 11" flexwatt would have cost 3.5 times less per pad

They were 11 x 17. Yup... I have no idea. When I placed my order with him on the phone, he made it sound like it was going to be flexwatt. Would have been much cheaper, and I would have preferred it to these things. Ugh. I feel like an idiot for ordering from him. Worst experience ever, all around.

Hopefully these stupid things will work. If not, money out the window I guess. Then I'll order the flexwatt.
