Allright, I'm probably overreacting, but you know how us noobs can be.....
My bp is driving his face into the astroturf and running it along the floor. Looks to me like a basic shedding move........but he's not shedding.
No skin flakes, eyes are clear (they were a little cloudy when I first got him, you can see it in my pics of him, but after a day or so of proper humidity, they are clear and shiny).
    Do they just do this?
Again, first bp and all, but you know how it is when your buddy does something wierd for the first time.............

oh yeah, I checked very thouroughly for mites and he's clean.........

The only thing that could possibly be something is retained eye caps. Do his eyes have little creases in them, like the look wrinkley? If not, mine do that sometimes as well. I don't doubt that they get itches, LOL.

Nothing to worry about, I say. He's just got an itch.

And yeah, I do know what you mean about about first bp's and all. ;)

Most snakes will do that when they are looking for a way out of their cage.

lol, that's about what I figured......
His eyes look great, best I've seen em. Been on the humidity like a good papa should!
As for trying to get out, I had just put him back in from handling for about 15 minutes. I probably stressed him out a little and he was trying to disappear.......plenty of hides, but sometimes I guess you just need to get gone!
Not to worry, he's fine now....nice and mellow again!
    Thanks for the tips, guys

wait...did it already shed? if not...thats what its trying to do...their eyes go cloudy, then clear up, then they shed (i dunno if you new to all snakes or just ball pythons...so i thought id throw that out there). if it already shed....maybe its skin is a little sensitive and it feels good to rub its nose. one of mine does that a little too for about a day after it sheds.

Mine does that. It wants to get under the turf for it's hide. It's diggin away at the edges to get in.

hahaha I'm a retard! Woke up this morning and he had shed! No I'm not new to snakes, just bp's.
I guess I just expected thier skin to look a little shabbier just before the shed. His color was good......now is real nice!
Oh well live and learn
    LOL thanks again folks

    The Post-Christmas joke...
Still waiting for Magellan to finish up his shed. Maybe the incoming storm will raise the humidity a bit more and help out in that regard.
