    respiratory infection in gravid female
I've dealt with RI before, treating it with baytril, humidity, heat etc. I checked on one of my gravid females yesterday. Just came into pre lay opeq and noticed some buildup of saliva ( first sign). So I cleaned her mouth out, checked her gums. No popping or wheezing. Moved her to a quarantine tank, upped heat and humidity. Today I checked her again and she is deff. coming down with resp ( good amount of saliva came up when held over) . Has anyone ever dealt with RI in a gravid female before? Will baytril harm the eggs? harm her at this stage in her pregnancy? Curious

Yep it happens, treat her like any other snake and just pray the egg's make it. I've treated a few animals while gravid, just treat the RI. Even if the egg's don't make it, it's not worth losing the female over it.

I rescued a female with a bad RI in january (which I am Still treating) She laid five beautiful eggs in march. She has been on Ceftazidime since I got her and I'm thinking i need another culture because she seemed to be improving until she laid and now her wheezing and hacking is worse than ever. She is also recieving nebulization treatments of Amikacin and Hot steams every other day to help clear the mucus out

Wow, that's quite a while. Longest i have had visible symptoms is was 7 weeks and that was treating with baytril. I have rescued some really bad animals. I rescued a female normal that was in a basement boiler room with just a heat lamp and 16 eye caps on her eyes, had not eaten in over a year. She is completely blind now, friendly as can be, weighs in over 3500 grams and breeding for me this year.
