    Texas Leaf Cutter Ant (Atta texana)
    Saw these guys for this first time outside of my office today, and after emailing the local college was able to have them identified as the Texas Leaf Cutter.

    Apparently their swarms are an entomologist's dream, and I got an email from a guy down in Houston wanting me to ship him some queens.

    After talking back and forth with him I agreed to bring him half a dozen queens this weekend, and in exchange he's giving me a dozen Deal Leaf Mantises (Deroplatys lobata) he hatched out.
