Won a few battles... Lost the war!
About a year ago, I started converting 4 hatchlings from live mice to F/T mice and then to F/T rats. I successfully converted them all to F/T mice and 3 of the 4 to rats. Unfortunately, I have one last holdout that wants absolutely nothing to do with rats. About 5 months ago, she actually spent 3-4 hours with a rat pup in her tank that actually took up residence in her hide while she sadly huddled in the corner of her tub...

I have hereby thrown in the towel and have ordered a supply of Jumbo mice just for her! That should keep her growing happily for the foreseeable future. Perhaps we'll try again in 6ish months when her supply runs out...

I have tried every trick in the book, but this is my first Ball Python that I haven't been able to convert. A sad day indeed. =)

I have luckily had all of mine switch.....I do have 1 snake, an adult female ghost, that will only eat weaned live rats......will touch NOTHING bigger, or dead, and will only eat 1 at a time.....so she eats 3-5 times per week....1 weaned rat per sitting, and it has to be left in, in the dark, and I cannot slide her tub all the way open. She stresses VERY easily, and will go off food for weeks at a time....I think I would rather have a mouser sometimes.....

Wow. I'l consider myself lucky. She'll readily take F/T mice now. I'm more worried about when she's full grown. Would much rather feed her a single medium rat than several mice at a sitting or throughout the week.
