do they eat the same as BTS's? What's in their diet?
  • 12-22-2003, 01:54 PM
Their diet is pretty broad, but they are mainly insectivores. They will also occasionally east fruits/veggies, I know alot of people who feed them canned cat/dog food as well.

I want a blue tongue, it's one of my favorite lizards. Supposedly my sis was buying me one, I'm sure it was BS. Ain't gonna happen I guess.

Sandfish as we call them are the best. We had one with the worst MBD I've ever seen (rescue) and he lived for about 6 months or so. He was a good specimine for educating the public about why not to feed certain foods to animals. He was very personable came out of his sand at dawn and dusk, would wait for his crickets every day. A great character!
We personally do not recommend feeding these guys dog or cat foods as they do not have the full nutritional requirements. But everyone is different.
    Ours loved his bugs.
    Anyhow there's my rant
    thanks

Rusty....I said this on another forum you posted this on, but I'll say it again here......Schneider's Skinks are NOT the same as Sandfish.....they are very different. They're totally different species......Schenider's get much bigger and don't have the shovel-like upturned nose.

    Whoa boys.

    Can you feed them pinkies?

Aren't there only like 6 breeders who have successfully bred Schneider's Skinks in captivity? That's pretty cool if that's true.

I didn't mean to come off as snippy....just making my point. Sorry, lol.

I believe you can when they are bigger.....not sure though.
