    hi every one i see alot of people that use the grates in the egg boxes can someone tell me why and where do people get it. i got my first 3 females about to pop lol and i just wanted to see if i should use that? i am going to use vermiculite and i just dont want to mess up this is my first year :D

    People use the grate inside the boxes in the 'substrate-less' method of incubation, where the eggs don't actually come in contact with the incubation medium, but rather sit on top of the grate that's over the medium.
    Using this method allows you to completely soak the medium(vermiculite/perlite or whatever you choose) with water and virtually never have to worry about humidity going down, or the eggs getting wet since they never actually touch the substrate.

    Egg crate/Light Diffuser can be found at hardware store like Home Depot

    You can get it at home depot or Lowes in the lighting department. It is about $12 for a 2'x4' piece and you just cut it to the size you need.
