I'm going to buy this: http://www.reptilebasics.com/thermos...nics-ve-300x2/ and I was wondering what the best way to secure the probe to the UTH? Do you put it right onto the back of the UTH?

Also are there any brands of UTH that fit better to the curve on sterlite tubs? I'm using zoomed and they stick alright, but there are streaks and areas of air that I cannot get out due to the slightly concave shape of the bottom of the tub.

And also for my temp probes for my digital thermometer can I use a hot glue gun to stick it to the inside of my enclosure on the bottom, or would that effect the temp reading?

Yes you can hot glue them (no snakes until it has cooled!!!) yes it does effect the reading it tends to insulate the probe so it reads higher than the rest. I don't bother to fasten the probe myself I just allow the thermometer to float inside the hides The weight of the hide holds it in place. You can also drill a hold just big enough for the probe to get through and it will stay in the hide then. This sometimes means the cord gets pulled hard (by snake) and it becomes inaccurate and needs to be replaced. i am a bit of a spaz with accurate temps and RH so I test all mine every 6 months and discard the few that have gone sour.
