I almost got a rainbow, but they're very....needy, and I tend to enjoy thick pythons more. But rainbows have awsome coloring, and of course the rainbow effect their scles give off :)
Ever seen a patternless? I was in a pet shop not to long ago and saw a 4 foot snake all brown, and I thought it was a house snake or something. I asked the guy what it was and he told me it was a rainbow, I thought hew as nuts. I finally found a trace of rainbow type pattern on it's head. It was cool looking.

That was most likely a columbian rainbow boa, they turn mostly brown. They aren't very pretty in my eyes.

Thanks! My BRB is an '03 as well and is around 2 1/2 feet long. They're actually very easy to keep.....the only thing is they like it very humid and moist. I keep mine on cypress mulch and put warm water on the mulch every few days and this works like a charm.
I also think the boa you saw was a Columbian Rainbow.....I don't really like them much either.

I know it's columbian. I typically don't like them either, well...the normals. But the patternless was really nice looking because it was so pure.

They're not truly patternless, however. Their patter fades as they age.....when young/ juvies, they have a patter similar to a BRB, just different colors.

all adult columbians are patternless... they are born with a great visible pattern then they darken alot and by the time they are adults they are light brown sometimes with a very faint pattern. since you did see some pattern it was probably just a normal.
you post on kingsnake huh? i think i remember you(or someone) asking about this there. my "website" i just started working on it...but the pic there is a baby columbian.

How much / often do you feed your rainbow?
I just got that new rescue in and talked with the previose owner (who apparently doesn't seem to mind that all of his snakes have a mite infestation!...frustrating) but anyhow he was feeding it about once a week, and only feeding 1 large mouse or 1 small rat. I wonder why the poor thing is underqweight?
