Yes - they do eat while incubating their eggs!

I decided to let this girlie incubate her own eggs. She laid on 4/18 with one roll out (that went into the incubator). I put a weane rat in with her and I was kinda suprised that she grabbed it right away!

Looks like 4 eggs in her pile - they still look real nice! I love how her bottom half is still coiling her eggs.

Yeah you would think, in the wild, if a rat wandered in to her hole while she was incubating, it would not make it back out.

Just as an update - I tried to feed her again and she wasn't interested. The eggs are due to hatch 6/18 so I will post updated pics when they start pipping.
