She gave me an early xmas present :)

Well when i got home tonight my room had a strange aroma to it. I thought it was just the mouse (since i've never kept mice i wasn't 100% sure what tehy smelled like in captivity)... but after a couple hours i'm like "yuck, the mouse has GOT to go". So i checked the mouse tank but it didnt' stink, so i was like huh?... walked over to Andariels crib and man i was like u stink girl. Upon closer inspection I noticed a rather smelly pile of snake poo. Man that stinks! lol.

Couple questions tho. It was about the consistancy of toothpaste (maybe a HAIR more runny but not much). Is this normal or is there a chance she has internal parasites?

Also do u think this might be why she hasn't eaten? Because she had to leave a present?

BTW, I let her swim around the tub for about 20 minutes while i cleaned her tank and cut a second piece of Astroturf for her substrate. I'm seriously thinkin of gettin reptibark next friday when i get paid, for atleast 1/2 of her tank so she can pick what she likes more.

One distinct advantage of using newspaper as the substrate. When the snake "pollutes" it, it's no big deal to trash it and put down a new layer.

One caveat on that is to use newspaper that is at least several days old, to give it a chance to air out from the printing process some.

Is your girl a CBB, andariel? If your not sure, and she hasn't gone to the vet with you yet, I would suggest it. Because you can never be too safe, you know?

I wouldn't say it is anything to worry about, but I didn't see it and smell it, lol. The choice is yours. :)

Andariel, don't change your substrate so soon. I'm sure your snake is still getting used to astroturf.

Try feeding her now, who knows, you might get lucky.

I stuck with the astroturf for now, tho i had to cut anothe rpiece to fit today, cause the one i made about 1am wasn't quite exact enough, it was a lil to small.

Imma try to feed her in a bit.
